AGM Details

The Combat Robotics New Zealand (CRNZ) Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be happening via Google Meet. If you wish to attend, please email us at admin@combatrobotics.co.nz or reach out on facebook via DM in order to get a link to the meeting (not posting it here publicly to avoid bots/spam/prank joins.

A typical agenda for AGM includes:

  • Chairperson’s Report
  • Treasurer’s Report
  • Executive Elections
  • Any other business (ie: rules revisions, event planning, fees changes, promotion, club activities, community outreach, etc)

Note: While we generally try to keep AGM to 1 hour duration, depending on what other business gets raised, and how many attendees we have, the meeting could run for much longer than an hour. In the event of an over-run, we will try to limit to no more than 2 hours total. Major topics of discussion usually get spun out into separate committees that will meet to discuss separate from AGM. (but assignment of these committees happens during the AGM)

Who can attend?

Anyone is free to attend, listen, and participate in the discussion, however there are a few important rules:

  1. Only a Full Financial Member can hold an executive role/title
  2. Only a Full Financial Member, or Junior Member can vote during the meeting on club decisions

How do I become a member?

Becoming a CRNZ Member is easy!

The yearly membership fee for a Full Member is $30/year, but Junior Members (those under the age of 18) are not required to pay the membership fee.

To enroll as a Full Member, simply visit this page, where you can subscribe. This will create your membership, let you manage your membership, email you reminders to renew, and optionally auto-bill you annually for your subs!

If you wish to enroll as a Junior Member, please contact us at admin@combatrobotics.co.nz as your membership account must be manually created at this time.

Executive Nominations

If you wish to run for any position on the Executive, you will need to be a paid-up full member and be nominated by another full member. These nominations can be via email by replying to this message, please include your (the Nominator) name, the Nominees name, and the position that they are being nominated for.

As a reminder, there are three named offices that someone can be nominated for: Chairperson, Secretary, or Treasurer. Someone can also be nominated just as an Executive Member.

The deadline for advance nominations to the Executive is seven days before the AGM. Additional nominations will be accepted at the AGM if there are insufficient nominations beforehand.

Named office holders are only able to serve three consecutive terms before they are ineligible to run a further time. If there are insufficient nominations to fill the positions, however, they can still be nominated at the AGM and appointed. So if you’re keen to run for one of these roles then please do get in touch!

Proposing other items of business

If you wish to have any other item discussed at the AGM, such as motions to make changes to the constitution, please submit them via email to admin@combatrobotics.co.nz.
